General settings of objectives and goals

Modified on Wed, 08 Nov 2023 at 12:51 PM

Process admins can configure the general behavior of objectives and goals in their performance review process through two different sections. These sections will allow them to configure them in both the Goal Setting and Review stages.

To enter the configuration sections of your objectives and goals, please follow these steps:

  1. In Configuration, click Objectives and goals.
  2. Click Configure objectives and goals.
  3. If you want to set the behavior of your objectives and goals during the Goal Setting Stage, click the Objectives and Goals Setting tab.
  4. If you want to configure the behavior of your objectives and goals during the Goal Review Stage, click the Objectives and Goals on Review Stage tab.

In both tabs you will find the following:

General settings

This subsection will show different configurations depending on the tab you choose previously. We advise you to read the explanation of each of them by placing your pointer over the Information (i) icon.

Objectives configuration

  • Show the 'Create objective' button: Allows you to show or hide the Create objective button inside the participant's goal setting or goal review.
  • Show objectives: Allows you to show or hide the objectives of the participant without affecting the behavior of the goals associated to them.
    • If you hide them, the goals of each objective will be grouped but the main information of the objective (such as name, description, weight, etc.) won't be shown. The button of Create objective won't be shown either.
    • If you show them, the goals will be grouped under their respective objectives and all of the information available will be shown. The button of Create objective will also be visible if it's set to appear.
  • Validate objectives weight: The platform will validate that the sum of the weights of the objectives is 100%. If this option is enabled, then it's mandatory for the sum of the weights to be 100% or the platform won't let the participant finish their goal setting/goal review.
  • Minimum/Maximum number of objectives: Allows you to choose a minimum or maximum number of objectives required to finish a stage.
    • If the minimum number of objectives is not reached, the platform won't let the participant finish the stage and it will show a warning message.
    • If the maximum number of objectives is reached, the platform will disable the button of Create objective and the participant won't be able to create new objectives.
    • If you don't set a minimum or maximum number and leave them blank, then the platform won't consider a minimum or maximum number of objectives to finish each stage.

Goals configuration

  • Show the 'Create goal' button: Allows you to show or hide the Create goal button inside the participant's goal setting or goal review.
  • Validate goals weight: The platform will validate that the sum of the weights of the goals associated under the same objective is 100%. If this option is enabled, then it's mandatory for the sum of the weights to be 100% or the platform won't let the participant finish their goal setting/goal review.
  • Show employer's comments to employees: Allows you to show or hide the comments registered by employers for each goal.
  • Disable 'Create goal' button when the weight is 100%: Disables the Create goal button when the weights of the goals under an objective reach 100%.
  • Minimum/Maximum goals weight: Allows you to define a range for the weight of goals. For example, between 40% and 100%. If the entered value doesn't fall under that range, the platform won't save it and will show a warning message specifying the allowed range.
